Our
story
Odone Polin founded "Polin Odone" in his hometown of Paese (Treviso),
a small business producing filter cells.
Following economic growth,
the company was renamed General Filter.
General Filter becomes the first company in Southern Europe
to produce synthetic and fiberglass bag filters.
The company becomes General Filter Italia Spa
General Filter si espande a livello internazionale con la
creazione di una rete di vendita in tutta Europa e la sua prima
consociata: General Filter Iberica S.A. in Spagna.
General Filter invests in R&D and new production lines aimed at
increasing department automation to improve the
productivity and quality of its products.
A new 10,000-square-meter production site is inaugurated in Paese.
The subsidiaries General Filter France
and General Filter Havak Ltd. are opened.
General Filter launches a new international corporate image
and a global brand awareness project
that includes a corporate communications campaign
to raise public awareness of the importance
of indoor and outdoor air quality.
In 2016, General Filter launched a new line of high-efficiency
synthetic conventional pockets. In 2018,
a new testing department was built, complete with a test tunnel for EN ISO 16890.
In 2019, a new pleating machine was installed for the
production of filters with synthetic media.

This European standard applies to air filters with an initial efficiency of less than 98% with respect to 0.4 micron particles. Filters must be tested at air flow rates between 0.24 m³/s (850 m³/h) and 1.5 m³/s (5400m³/h).
